This one was a cause close to the heart. A disease that takes too many beautiful lives too often, has also touched my family in a profound way, so I wanted to do my bit.
Having previously given direct donations, I felt that pouring some sweat into it might mean more this time…
Even getting ready for the event it was super special and fun to have my daughter help put together my crazy dress costume (makeup included); and cheer me on – along with my mum, husband, son and some dear friends.
The air was fresh and the road seemed long, but the reward of a hot coffee at the finish seemed worth it; as did the thought of helping cancer research. So I ran for the cause and loved every moment of it, feeling as though I had Grandma right there alongside me x
